Granny Smith on Yellow Chintz original still life painting

I love to use pieces of vintage fabric collected for my still lifes. This is one I've painted before. I changed the white background to yellow to intensify it, however. Was it Kandinsky who said that yellow is for mad men? When I use very intense yellow, I think about that and am always reminded of "The Yellow Room" by Van Gogh. Experiencing color is powerful, impossible to put into words. Happy July 4th!
