Coyote Creek landscape painting by Polly Jones

Coyote Creek by Polly Jones
Late in the summer we went camping in New Mexico for a few days.  I mean primitive camping... in a tent without electricity or running water!  One day, tired of fishing, I did this little 8" by 8" acrylic painting of the creek we camped near.  It was a challenge to try to capture the shimmer reflecting off of everything, especially the water.  The mountain air is thinner and the light seems different up there.

Early Pumpkin original mixed media still life painting by Polly Jones

Early Pumpkin by Polly Jones
I'm feeling fall now and getting ready for my annual pumpkin painting giveaway.  I had trouble with photographing this for some reason.  It has a softer look in person.

This 4" by 6" acrylic mixed media painting is sold.

Sweet William in a Jar original acrylic painting by Polly Jones

Sweet William in a Jar by Polly Jones

I scavenged some flowers from one of my barely hanging in there pot plants for this.  There's nothing blooming in the yard.  I love the names of flowers and wonder how this one got the name "Sweet William" also known as pinks.  You can see the graph paper and a map table peeking through.  It's a way of referring to the underlying order of life.

Sold.

Pumpkin painting redo

Noah Project pumpkin painting by Polly Jones
Hello all, it's been so long since I've painted, much less posted anything here.  It's been a crazy, hard time for my family.  We lost both my parents this year.  Knowing they are in a better place makes all the difference... but there's still a big hole here.

This painting is a redo of an older one that never felt quite right.  I can't find the old photo of the old version. It was part of a silent auction for a really great cause called Noah Project.
